The Oasis of Seu

POSITIONE: 14 km.

DESCRIPTION: The Oasis of Seu is situated in the splendid Sinis’s Peninsula, along the two costs of San Giovanni and Punta Is Arutas. The Oasis is characterized by caves, beaches rocks and in the north side there are sand dunes but inside there are rocks.

Along the sea, you can admire its amazing and luxuriant Mediterranean scrub with rosemary (the rosemary with the white flowers is typical), myrtle, olive, tiny palms and there is also a little pinewood.

The sea bed is one of the best preserved in the littoral zone, with a richest fauna presents above all along the sea cliffs with: fishes, shellfishes, molluscs and invertebrates.

A larg part of animal species find refuge between the wonderful Posidonia prairies. An Oasis symbol is the Sardinian partridge but you can see also blackbirds, blackcaps, ”sterpazzole and occhiocotti“ (birds that belong to the Sylvia family).

Moreover there are many sparrows, hoopoes, larks, strike and predatories like: the buzzard and the hawk. Then alight on the rocks: seagulls, cormorants and seaswallos. Then in the dunes area live selvatic rabbits, foxes, snakes and tortoises. There are two tourist routes inside the oasis.
