Tharros
POSITION: 15 km.
DESCRIPTION: Tharros was founded by Phoenicians in the 10th century b.c, then in the 8th century b.c became an important Carthaginian centre and also a Roman colony until the 1070 when the town was abandoned under the pressure of the Arabic incursions.
A large part of the area has baried by the sea and sand, anyway you can admire a beautiful landscape and in the summer’s evenings there are concerts and live performances in the old amphitheatre.
